ARE YOU READY FOR THE WEDDING? I just came back from Norway where I celebrated a wedding in the middle of the mountains. That is also the reason for writing a little later. It was a wedding between a man and a woman and they had waited for a long time. They wanted to follow the biblical principles and they had no sex before the wedding. WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE MEET RESISTANCE? I have many thoughts around this theme. I have sometimes done the right thing and sometimes not. When I meet people in counselling, I often hear how circumstances rule people’s lives. It can give people depressions or make people very happy. The devil knows where we are most weak and he attacks us in our weakest points. Many people get scared when they are attacked with symptoms of being sick. DO WE NEED TO READ THE BIBLE EVERY DAY? I could give two completely different answers to that question. One would be an unconditional yes. The other one would be an unconditional no. Why should we read the Bible every day and why isn’t it necessary? This is my theme for today. When my children were old enough to read, I was teaching them to read the Bible as it was their food. WHO TAKES CARE OF THE SHEEP? I will not primarily write about animals, but will mention some stories about sheep and shepherds and use that as comparisons with human beings. I participate in a prayer group where we pray for leaders in the Body of Christ. Many congregations are lacking shepherds to take care of the members. HOW DO WE REACT WHEN WE ARE TREATED UNFAIRLY? I will not come with some easy solutions. I am in such a situation right now. I need the Lord’s wisdom just as much as you do when you come in such situations. I choose to look at Jesus. How did He react and what would He have done in my situation? WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING? Part 2 I wrote last time that my highest desire as a counsellor is to make people more like Jesus. Can’t every Christian do that? Every born-again Christian has Jesus living in their spirit and friends and fellow believers can help each other to get more like Jesus, but I would say that the person who is called for counselling, has been equipped for the task. WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING? In other languages we have words for Christian counselling that makes it clear that we take care of the soul. I want to remind you of the fact that we are spirit, soul and body. The spirit is born by God and it is pure, righteous and worthy to go to heaven. It has no sin, demons, sicknesses or anything else coming from the enemy. Philippians 2:12 says that we should work out on our soul’s salvation. Ephesians 2:8 is saying that we are saved by grace.
