ARE YOU READY FOR THE WEDDING?

ARE YOU READY FOR THE WEDDING?   I just came back from Norway where I celebrated a wedding in the middle of the mountains. That is also the reason for writing a little later. It was a wedding between a man and a woman and they had waited for a long time. They wanted to follow the biblical principles and they had no sex before the wedding. The bride could therefore wear a white gown, representing purity. There is a preparation for a wedding in heaven going on right now. Every person who has ... (read more)

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE MEET RESISTANCE?

WHAT DO WE DO WHEN WE MEET RESISTANCE? I have many thoughts around this theme. I have sometimes done the right thing and sometimes not. When I meet people in counselling, I often hear how circumstances rule people’s lives. It can give people depressions or make people very happy. The devil knows where we are most weak and he attacks us in our weakest points. Many people get scared when they are attacked with symptoms of being sick. When you are on vacation, it seems even worse. How can I get ... (read more)

DO WE NEED TO READ THE BIBLE EVERY DAY?

DO WE NEED TO READ THE BIBLE EVERY DAY?   I could give two completely different answers to that question. One would be an unconditional yes. The other one would be an unconditional no. Why should we read the Bible every day and why isn’t it necessary? This is my theme for today. When my children were old enough to read, I was teaching them to read the Bible as it was their food. I asked them how often they ate during the day and the answer was three to four times a day. What would happen ... (read more)

WHO TAKES CARE OF THE SHEEP?

WHO TAKES CARE OF THE SHEEP?   I will not primarily write about animals, but will mention some stories about sheep and shepherds and use that as comparisons with human beings. I participate in a prayer group where we pray for leaders in the Body of Christ. Many congregations are lacking shepherds to take care of the members. Some shepherds are gathering the sheep around themselves and their own ministry. The focus of the church is similar to the spiritual gifts of the leader. If he or she ... (read more)

HOW DO WE REACT WHEN WE ARE TREATED UNFAIRLY?

HOW DO WE REACT WHEN WE ARE TREATED UNFAIRLY?   I will not come with some easy solutions. I am in such a situation right now. I need the Lord’s wisdom just as much as you do when you come in such situations. I choose to look at Jesus. How did He react and what would He have done in my situation? To be treated in an unfair way will most of the time create some pain and the pain might be even stronger if this is done by a close friend or family member. If one is in a situation when one is ... WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING, PART 2

WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING? Part 2 I wrote last time that my highest desire as a counsellor is to make people more like Jesus. Can’t every Christian do that? Every born-again Christian has Jesus living in their spirit and friends and fellow believers can help each other to get more like Jesus, but I would say that the person who is called for counselling,  has been equipped for the task. The Lord gives them spiritual gifts and equips them in different ways. When you are sick, you ... (read more)

WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING?

WHY DO WE NEED CHRISTIAN COUNSELLING? In other languages we have words for Christian counselling that makes it clear that we take care of the soul. I want to remind you of the fact that we are spirit, soul and body. The spirit is born by God and it is pure, righteous and worthy to go to heaven. It has no sin, demons, sicknesses or anything else coming from the enemy. Philippians 2:12 says that we should work out on our soul’s salvation. Ephesians 2:8 is saying that we are saved by grace. None ... (read more)

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO DURING EASTER?

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO DURING EASTER? I grew up in Norway and Easter started Saturday before Palm Sunday. From that day to Tuesday after Easter, Norway was more or less closed. Only a few people worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Maundy Thursday, but many were on vacation. All the schools were closed and all the shops were closed on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, first and second day of Easter. Some foreigners came to visit Norway and they thought that Norway had an ... WHAT IS THE COMMISSION FOR THE CHRISTIANS?

WHAT IS THE COMISSION FOR THE CHRISTIANS?   I do not know what is occupying your mind. What do your Christian friends talk about? There is a saying that goes like this: What your heart is full of, your mouth speaks. I believe that is true. Just think of a person that is in love. What does he or she talk about? Yes, they talk about the person they are in love with. Many people get very happy and thankful when they get saved. They might fall in love with Jesus and the Bible is saying that we ... (read more)

ONCE AGAIN: COMMUNICATION!

ONCE AGAIN: COMMUNICATION.   I have written about this subject several times before and look them up and read them again. I  write a little about communication again since I have new readers and we all need to be reminded of the importance of correct communication. Almost everything in this world has to do with communication. We Christians are not better in this than others. I would actually say that we are worse. Many working places offer courses in it and when we open a newspaper, we ... (read more)
