DO YOU KNOW HOW TO WIN THE WAR? Part 3.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO WIN THE WAR?

Part 3

When we are in war, soldiers might get wounded and some might even die. We do not need to die during the spiritual war. Some Christians are afraid of the enemy and they are hiding. They forget that Jesus already has conquered the devil on the Cross and we are therefore fighting on the victorious side. If you are living in obvious sin, I would recommend you to repent and stop before you enter warfare. Sinning is an opening for the devil and the more openings we can close, the better it is.

Sinning is one opening that the devil can come through. Lack of forgiveness is another one. In Matthew 6:14+15 it says that we should forgive those who have sinned against us. If we do not forgive them, our Father will not forgive us either. Jesus forgave those that mocked Him and killed Him. Some people have experienced serious insults and it might be difficult to forgive, but Jesus said: “Father forgive them. They do not know what they are doing. Ask the Lord to help you when you find it difficult to forgive. You might start to forgive in obedience to the Word, but your emotions might still hurt. You can forgive the same thing many times till the pain is gone. Sometimes it takes a long time.

Some people do not really know what sin is. They might thing that it is a sin to be unfaithful, but the same people might gossip behind the back of a person. Gossip and envy are sins and these things are often practiced in the church. I know of women in a praying ministry, but these women create false rumors about others. I do not understand that they dare.

Some people pray because of wounds and one might ask God to do things that are not in accordance with the Word. God is not answering wrong prayers, but the devil has heard the wrong prayers and he is eager to answer them. In the Lord’s prayer we pray: “Let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  We should pray according to the will of God.

We are praying to the Father and against the devil.

I have attended prayer meetings where we have been confused. What do we pray for? When more people are present, I recommend a leader and that the leader is clear in explaining what one prays for and what is the purpose. Sometimes I have experienced that prayer-arrows have gone to the left and right. That will not give any victory. The devil loves chaos. God is a God of order.

I will end this theme about warfare by taking you to Ephesians 6. Paul is writing about the spiritual armor. Every soldier knows how to dress and what kind of weapons to use. The first words that Paul is saying are these: “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” I had a special experience some years back. I had been in prayers together with another woman. When I should get up, I could not rise. I was like glued to the chair and it was like something very heavy over me. I asked the Lord what happened and He said that He allowed me to experience a small portion of His enormous power. We would not be able to carry all of it.

Why should we put on the whole armor of God? In order to stand against the wiles of the devil. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. We should gird our waist with truth. Jesus says that He is the truth. I know that there are Christians lying, but we are supposed to speak the truth and live a truthful life. The second armor is the breastplate of righteousness. We are sinners, but Jesus has given us His righteousness. In Him we are clean. On our feet we have the preparation of the gospel of peace. Then we have the shield of faith. Without faith we cannot please God. (Hebrew 11:6) With the shield of faith we can quench all the fiery darts of the devil. Then we should take the helmet of salvation. Jesus cried out on the Cross: “It is finished!” Then we need the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

Do not enter spiritual warfare without the armor of God.

REMEMBER THAT GOD IS WITH YOU!
