GOD WANTS GROWTH AND INCREASE.

GOD WANTS GROWTH AND INCREASE!

Today I go back to the beginning. We read in the first chapter and the 28th verse in Genesis. It says that God had created man and woman and then He said to them: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth. He continued to give them authority over everything that had seeds in them. When God creates something, He does not create only one of its kind. No, He creates a lot. Just think of all the plants and all the fishes in the sea. I have a daughter and she is using a snorkel and she is fascinated by all the different shapes and colors of the life underneath the water surface. It seems like God has no limitations in His fantasy and creative power. That goes for all areas of nature. Have you been in a green pasture during spring? You see a lot of green around you, but there might been a great variety of green colors.

When God created the monkey, He did not create one type of monkey, but a lot of different. Some are small and then we have the big gorillas. We could mention animal after animal and then think of the great variety of birds. God becomes very big in my eyes when I see His creativity and not to mention His eyes for details. The animals are created to live under different climatic conditions. Think of the birds that fly from one continent during spring and come to Scandinavia and stay here till the fall and fly all the way back then. They are created with a specific navigation system. They might even find back to the same nest that they built the year before.

God has created the human beings to multiply. If it hasn’t been so, the history would have ended with Adam and Eve, but they had children and now we have billions of people on this earth. God has not said exactly how many children each couple should have, but He does say that children are a blessing. I once asked if He was against birth-control and I think He said no, but He did say again that children are a blessing. He does hate the fact that children are killed in the womb of their mothers. Abortion is murder.

We read about the blessings and curses in Genesis 28. All areas of our lives are described. When we become children of God, we move from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light and we partake of the blessings. God wants us to succeed in everything. That means when you cook and bake, in your work, in your economy, your relationships and when it comes to your health. He wants to bless whatever you are sowing. I saw a film about the result of praying. In societies where many had prayed, the farmers had bigger and better crops than other places and the crimes reduced and many came to faith.

In Luke 19 and Matthew 25 we read about the stories about the talents. Whatever He has given to us should increase. The one who hadn’t done anything with the mina he had received, was forced to give it to the one who had many, but he knew how to use them for an increase. God has given us natural talents as well as spiritual gifts. What are you doing with what you have received? I was recently in need of help to repair a door. The one who helped me said: “Some have received a mouth to speak with. I can talk with my hands.” We must stop comparing ourselves with others, but seek God for help and wisdom to manage what we have received.

Some people think that they are humble when they do not use what they have received. They might suffer from an inferiority complex or suffer from fear of men. If you have a wonderful voice to sing, you might say: “I am singing when I take a shower.” Others are called to preach, but they refrain because of fear. I recently heard a preacher saying that the first times when he should preach, he was vomiting, but he refused fear to stop him. Today he has no fear. The Bible is saying that we haven’t received a spirit of fear. I am freely using the gifts of The Spirit, knowing that they are given to me and I cannot boast of them.

John 15 is saying that we should bear a lot of fruits. It is saying that the branches that are not carrying fruits will be cut off and burned. The branches that are carrying fruits, will be pruned in order to carry more. We cannot carry any fruits if we do not have any contact with the stem. Jesus is the tree and we are the branches. Verse 16 is saying that we should carry everlasting fruits.

There are couples refusing to get children and we have many churches without new members. They function as a sect and will often be ruled by control. This is unbiblical. It says that we should multiply. The last words spoken by Jesus before He ascended to the Father were these: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age.” Your faith in Jesus is not a private business. Be bold and share your faith about Jesus.

DO NOT HIDE YOUR TALENT IN THE GROUND!
