GOD, THE UNCHANGEABLE ONE

GOD, THE UNCHANGEABLE ONE.

I wrote last time that 2015 would be a year of changes and I wrote that the dark will become darker and the light will become brighter. I also wrote that we should be willing to change our habits and let go of the secure way of living. We must dare to step out of our comfort zone. I stressed the fact that we needed to keep close to Jesus and to be led by The Holy Spirit. Today I want to write about something and someone who is not changeable. He is the same today, yesterday and for all eternity.

Martin Luther wrote in a psalm that God is God if every man was dead or if all countries lay desolated. This is quite dramatic, but he does have a strong point: God doesn’t change according to the circumstances. It should be the other way around. Circumstances should come in alliance with the Word of God. When I get sick, I can say that Jesus has taken my sickness with Him on the Cross. Isaiah 53:4+5 says that by His stripes we are healed. They couldn’t use this Scripture before Jesus. Moses was told by God to make a snake out of copper and when the people looked at that particular snake, they would be healed. We must also fasten our eyes upon Jesus. I sometimes meet people who can’t look me in the eyes. They might have numerous reasons for that. They might suffer from fear or inferiority. They might dislike me, feel guilty or they might have demons being afraid of exposure. I do not get real contact with these people. We might talk together, but we have no real contact. We must fasten our eyes on Jesus in order to have a real contact with Him. When we read about Him in the Word, we give Him attention. When we turn to Him and praise Him and thank Him for Who He is and all what He has done for us, we fasten our eyes upon Him. When we talk and pray to Him, we communicate with Jesus.  When we tell others about Jesus, we have our focus on Him as well as others. You might come with more examples. Some people say that they are getting so close to God in nature. I can understand that if they keep their focus on the One who has created the nature, but not if their focus is merely on nature. Many are those today that worship the created and not the Creator. He is the One who has created the human brain, making men able to discover new things and improve in any field in the world today.  Animals are not created in the image of God, but the human race is. God has created man to think and feel.

God has created the animals to live and survive in the elements they are created for. Their brain cannot function the same way as a human. Animals are sometimes used in research, but I seriously hope this is done in a very careful way in order to avoid damage or pain. God says that we should rule over the animals, but He didn’t say that we should hurt them.

God is, was and will forever be the Creator.

Because God is the Creator, I think that He can create today and also can repair what is broken. It shouldn’t therefore be difficult for Him to let legs grow out and to give new body-parts to people. We are often limiting God because of our limited faith.

If God could create before, He can create something new today.

The Bible calls God for almighty. One new Bible translation used the word mighty instead of almighty. I do not feel that mighty is as strong as almighty. When one uses the word almighty, one is actually saying that there are no limits to what God can do. Matthew 19:26 says that with God all things are possible. I seriously need this omnipotent God as my Father and as an active part of my everyday life. Mark 9:23 says that everything is possible for those who believe. Activate the One living in you during the year of 2015.

God hated sin and He is continuing to hate sin.

We can read in Joshua 24:19: “You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your transgressions and your sins.” We are talking about non-confessed sins here. God has always hated sins. We do know the story of Adam and Eve. They were disobedient to God and were tempted by the snake, the devil. They lived in the Garden of Eden and that was a symbol of heaven, our ultimate goal. They were thrown out of the garden since a holy God and a sinful human being cannot live together. The Old Testament is full of sacrifices and describes the duties of the priests and the High priest. Sacrifices and the priests were used as a cleansing for sins and that functioned until the arrival of Jesus. He became the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. His blood is between you and God and God can see you sin-free because of that blood.

You cannot come to God except through Jesus.

                                             He is the only way.

God hates sin just as much today as before. He really hasn’t changed. Many are saying today that it isn’t so dangerous to sin. The times have changed and we must change with the times. When the Bible calls homosexuality for sin, many are saying that we should not accept that. We should naturally live out our desires and many would say our natural desires. We do live in the year of 2015. Others are saying that we do not need to confess our sins since Jesus took them all on the Cross. That has led to the fact that quite a few have returned to the world where they can give in to their fleshly desires. I have personally talked to some people believing this. We live by grace, but that doesn’t mean that we can do exactly what we want. I have talked to many women and especially young ones about the way of dressing. When they wear clothes showing so much of their bodies that it creates lust in a man, they are leading the men into sin and I believe they have sinful motives themselves. I know that there exist laws and regulations that have no ground in the Bible, but the Bible says through the apostle Paul that we should not drink nor eat things that offend and make our brothers and sisters to stumble. (1.Cor.8)

It is true that Jesus took our sins, but 1.John1:9 say that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. God hates sin just as much today as before. In heaven there is no sin, no sickness, in other words we will not find anything coming from the source of darkness. That wouldn’t go together with a holy God. The Bible says that we should fear God. We should not treat Him with disrespect, but He also wants to have an intimate relationship with us. I believe that most of us are very limited in our understanding of His greatness, holiness and purity. I think that we will honor Him more with increased knowledge and revelation. If we have a wrong picture of God, we might fear Him in a wrong way and might avoid coming to Him knowing that He is a good God.

God’s relationship with men was broken through sin, but was restored through Jesus.

God is a triune God and God is one.

This is difficult to understand with our heads, but I recommend you to accept it as a fact without making it so difficult. God and Jesus are today together in heaven and The Holy Spirit is here on earth. I have communion with all three parts. I pray to God in the name of Jesus. I talk with Jesus and The Holy Spirit. I am often calling on The Holy Spirit as my Helper. I just did that before writing.

God is the truth and He doesn’t change according to our thoughts and ideas. On the contrary, He wants us to change and come into alliance with His word. He will give us the power to do so.

BE BLESSED
