The Holy Spirit 5

September 28th Part 5 I completed last chapter by telling how the Holy Spirit came to the house of Cornelius and to us gentiles. We will continue to read the Acts. We start with Acts 11:28. Some prophets had come from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them was named Agabus. The Spirit showed him that there would come a great famine over the whole world. Then the disciples decided to send help to the brothers in Judea. We can hear the same thing to-day. I have heard many testimonies from people who ... (read more)

The Holy Spirit 4

September 18th Part 4 This time I will go through the Acts, but before that I will write a little about the last days of Jesus here on this earth. Jesus died and rose again on the third day. He carried all our sins, broke all the curses of the devil and by His stripes we are healed. (Is.53:4+5) Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection. He was with them several times. Each gospel quote different things from what He said before He ascended to Heaven. (Matt.28:18-20 and Mark ... (read more)

The Holy Spirit 3

September 8th Part 3 Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem. An angel came and told some shepherds on the field about the birth of Jesus. The place was filled with a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Every boy who was eight days old should be circumcised according to the laws of Moses. The parents of Jesus wanted to do the same with Him and they took Jesus to the temple. There they met Simeon ... (read more)

The Holy Spirit 2

August 28th Part 2 I will continue with examples from the Old Covenant. I start with Nehemiah. He was called by God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. In chapter 9 he talks about the time they had in the desert. He talks to God and says in verse 20: “You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst. ” I used last times many examples to show that the Spirit came upon people and they prophesied. ... The Holy Spirit 1

August 18th Part 1. God is One and God is Three. This is a mystery, but still important to understand. We have all some kind of imaginations about The Holy Spirit. These are not always true. I will not insist on having the whole truth about Him, but will share that which has been revealed to me. The Holy Spirit was there from the very beginning, just as God and Jesus. He is already mentioned in the second verse of the Bible. “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the ... (read more)

My thoughts for 2007

December 28th We will soon leave the year of 2006. How did you experience last year? Each and every one of us could tell our own story. For some of us it has been a good year, but for others it might have been a year full of sickness and sorrow. What do we do with what has been? I want you to meditate on the year of 2006. Have you thanked God for being your Father? Did you thank Jesus for being your Savior? Did you thank the Holy Spirit for being your Helper? Maybe you did’nt even use the ... (read more)

Jesus is the life

December 18th THE LIFE. Jesus IS Life, HAS Life and GIVES Life. Jesus was from the very beginning when God created Heaven and Earth and everything living on the earth. He created at the end man i His image. God SAID and it WAS. Words have the power of life and death. It says in John 1.1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” It continues to say that He was with God and in Him was life, and the life was the light of men. God has created ... (read more)

Jesus is the truth

December 8th Jesus does not say that He has the truth, but He IS the Truth. That means that there cannot exist any lies in Him, not even a little one. All of Jesus is Truth. I looked up in a dictionary and looked for the different meanings of truth. I found many explanations depending on which philosophy or faith you had. They mentioned absolute truths and logical truths. That means that you draw a conclusion, based on what is said. I believe that Jesus was and is absolute true. God is also ... (read more)

Jesus is the way

November 28th I want to write about Jesus as the way, the truth and the life. The first will be about THE WAY. In the same scripture you can read that no one comes to the Father, but through Jesus. (John 14:6) In the world to-day we are so afraid to step on somebody’s religious toes that we hardly dare to preach that there is only One Way to salvation or one way to God. That road is called Jesus and only Jesus gives us admission to God. In certain countries it is forbidden to preach that ... (read more)

The Word of God is your food, part 2

November 18th Part 2. We are continuing to compare the Word with the food we eat or choose not to eat. I wrote that we need variation in our diet. If we have a one-sided diet, we become undernourished. In some churches, they teach a lot about the word of salvation and grace. This teaching might have led you to make the decision of salvation and you are very happy. You continue in the same church and the problems of every-day life arise. You might have problems with paying your bills and you ... (read more)
