Jesus is the life

December 18th

Jesus IS Life, HAS Life and GIVES Life. Jesus was from the very beginning when God created Heaven and Earth and everything living on the earth. He created at the end man i His image. God SAID and it WAS. Words have the power of life and death. It says in John 1.1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” It continues to say that He was with God and in Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

God has created everything and everything that He has created has life. That goes for all and everything all over the world.

When Adam and Eve fell in sin and left the dominion over the world to Satan, death entered the world. We read in Rom. 8:21+22 that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs because it wants to be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Life on this earth to-day is a battle between the Good and the Evil. In other words, a battle between Life and Death. Jesus won a victory over this battle on the Cross. We read in Col.2:13-15 that we have been made alive in Him when He wiped away the handwritten requirements that were against us. Jesus also disarmed the powers and principalities and triumphed over them on the Cross. Paul wrote to Timothy that Jesus had abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. (2.Tim.1:10)

Jesus says to Nicodemus in John, chapter 3.15+16 that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. If we believe in Him and receive Him as Lord and Savior, we get eternal life. Our body will die at one time or the other, but in Heaven we will receive a new glorious body. My Spirit takes my personality with him to Heaven and I will never die. In Heaven there is no sin, sickness nor any demonic activity. I do not know so much about Heaven, but I do know that we as saved people can look forward to it. There everything in us will be life and also in everybody else around me. It will be exiting and I look forward to it.

If we did not have anything to do here on earth, we could die the day we got saved, but God needs everyone of us. We should be pregnant with physical children as well as spiritual children. We want to populate Heaven and drag people out of the grip of the devil. We want to see people go from death to life.

I want to show you John 6:63. It says: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” I said that God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit are truth and in the same way they are LIFE. All life came from them and comes from them at all times.

Nothing that is written in the Bible has death in it even if we read about wars and death. These things are written to tell us about the consequences of sin and disobedience. The Word is alive and gives birth to life. The devil might use the Word to destroy and condemn, but the Word spoken in the right spirit creates what it is sent for. I will tell you a funny story that I have heard myself. It was an elderly woman who could not remember so well any more, but she remembered that God covers us with His wings and we find shelter under them.(Psalm 91) One day she was attacked by a person who wanted to steal her purse and she started to scream: “Feathers, feathers”. The man got so confused that He ran away. Even if this story is funny, we can see that a word from the Bible has life in it. It works. We must never underestimate the Word of God.

Look up Phil.4:3. Paul mentions the names of some people and he asks them to help those who have their names written in the Book of Life. In the Book of Revelation we can read about this book that contains the names of all those with eternal life. DO YOU HAVE YOUR NAME WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE??????????.

I have earlier mentioned the story about Jesus and the woman by the well. He had asked the Samaritan woman to give Him to drink. He says that when you drink from that water, you will get thirsty again, but he says: “The water that I shall give will become a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14) We Christians have that water on the inside of us. Many times we allow that water to lay brackish. Other times we need lots of water to cleanse us from sin and the works of the flesh.

Jesus does not want us to barely survive. He says in John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” He continues to say that He is the Good Shepard and that He has given His life for the sheep. He was willing to give His life in order for us to Live. He wants us to have 100% life in our spirit, soul and body. All sickness has a spark of death in it. Jesus carried all our sicknesses in order for us to be well. He wants to heal our soul and He broke all the curses of the devil. That shows me clearly that He wants me to have abundant life. He does not want us to lack anything in any area. The better I am, the happier He is. He gave His life in order for me to have Life and Peace. Some people think that they are holy when they suffer and when they are sick. It is nothing holy in refusing to accept what Jesus has given to them. There are sufferings that we will meet because of the Gospel, but these are different than the works done on the Cross.

Go to Matt.6:25-34. Jesus says that we should not worry about our life, what we should eat and how to get dressed. He will take care of that. He thinks about us as a loving father. Jesus prays for you to-day and He wants a good life for you.

I mentioned that we are not here to serve ourselves. We are salt and light in the world. We should bring life to our families, friends, the place where we live and our country. If we Christians had not prayed, this world would be really dark. The more we pray, the more light we bring into the world. When we share the Word of God, we share spiritual life and when we testify about Jesus we show them the way to Life. When we lay hands on the sick and they become well, we show them the power of the Gospel.
