DO WE USE OUR GODGIVEN AUTHORITY?

DO WE USE OUR GODGIVEN AUTHORITY?

The prophet Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 53:4+5 what Jesus should do on the Cross hundreds of years before Jesus came to this earth. He carried our sicknesses and by His stripes we are healed. He took our pain, and the punishment was on Him so we could have peace. He took care of all the sins of the world and Colossians 2:14+15 says that He wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us. He disarmed principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them when He was triumphing over them.

In other words: Jesus won a victory over sin, death, sickness and over the devil.

We are living in the truth that Jesus won a victory over all of that on the Cross. At the same time we cannot deny the fact that Christians can become sick and some are even dying too early. Others are having physical and emotional pain and others are attacked by demonic powers. You and I are children to the most high God, the One that created heaven and earth. Should we allow the devil to come with poisonous arrows against our soul and body? Some people think that God gives His children sicknesses to teach them something. If that was the case, God would not have sent His son Jesus to carry our sicknesses and give us healing through His stripes. In Mark 16 we read that we should lay hands on the sick and they will be healed. In James 5 we read that we should call upon the eldest in the church so that they could anoint the sick with oil. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. It continues to say that if you have sinned, you will be forgiven. We are even encouraged to confess our sins to one another, pray for each other and we will be healed. In 1.Corinthians 12 we read about the gift of healing. Others receive a word of knowledge and mention the name of a sickness and says that the Lord wants to heal the person with that disease. Others get pain in their bodies saying that the Lord wants to heal people with those symptoms. Jesus healed everybody that came to Him for healing.

God doesn’t give us sicknesses, but He wants us to get rid of them. The source of sicknesses does not come from God.

God doesn’t come with condemnation when we get sick. He doesn’t say like some Christians that we get sick because we are so sinful. God is with us when we get sick, and He has given us tools for getting well. God can use doctors and medicines, and I pray for wisdom for my doctor when I go to him.

Now when we know that sicknesses do not come from God, we might stop identifying with the sickness we have. I should stop saying: “My diabetes.” Ith isn’t mine. That is something Jesus carried on the Cross and Jesus doesn’t want me to have it.

In James 4:7 it says that we should resist the devil, and he will flee from us. When I ask if we use our authority, I am asking if we resist the devil or do we accept all the evil coming from the enemy? We must not forget that we have a new nature in Christ. Our new borne spirit is perfect. Jesus is saying to us: “What is mine, is yours.” He has given us His authority. When we go against the devil, we do not go in our name, but in the name of Jesus. He has conquered the devil. We read in Colossians 2:15 that Jesus disarmed the devil. Some use the name of Jesus without thinking what it really means, and they might even use His name without a proper respect. Jesus has changed the history of the world. He became the Savior of the world, and He conquered the evil. He is also the Bridegroom to all born again Christians. It is this Jesus that has given us a legal right to use His name.

When we go into a war, we must know what kind of weapons to use and whom and where to attack. We are not fighting flesh and blood according to Ephesians 6. We are in a spiritual war and we should resist the devil and he will run away.

God has given a certain mandate to each and everyone of us. I believe that we have authority over ourselves, my family. God has to show you if you are entering into other territories. Do not start fighting before God has given you clear signals. It is also important to know if you should fight alone or with others. We are always stronger when we are more people. Do not start fighting without the armour of God. You should also deal with your own sin before you start fighting. The devil knows if you have sin or unforgiveness in your life. That will be like openings for counter attacks. Close them. The devil also knows if you come in your own power or int power of the Lord. I always cover myself and everything belonging to me with the blood of Jesus before I go against the devil.

When we are attacked by the devil, we might get very weak or full of pain and it is difficult to withstand his attacks. It is smart to ask somebody else to fight for or with you against the enemy then. By asking for help you are already saying that you do not accept what the enemy is doing.

LET US RISE AND USE THE AUTHORITY GIVEN TO US OR ENGAGE SOMEBODY ELSE TO HELP US IN OUR FIGHT.
