Prayer, part 2

Part 2

I closed last time by saying that God is answering our prayers. To-day I want to continue by referring to other verses in the Bible, confirming the fact that God is answering our prayers. I cannot say this too often since this is the foundation of our faith. If God did not answer our prayers, there is no sense to pray.

We can go to 1.Kin.8. There we read the prayer that Solomon prayed when the ark was brought into the Temple. He often closed his prayer by saying: “Hear my supplications, Lord.”

There is no doubt, God does hear our supplications. We read in chapter nine, verse three: “And the Lord said to him: “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” You can read the entire prayer and answer for yourself. We sense the communication between Solomo and God. Solomo prays, GOD LISTENS AND ANSWERS. We must not forget that to-day we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

You can continue to 2.Kin. 20. There we read about King Hezekiah. He was deadly sick and the prophet Isaiah came to him. Hezekiah didn’t want to die and he prayed and cried before the Lord. Isaiah was told by God to tell Hezekiah: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. “God surely healed him and he got fifteen more years to live. God also delivered the city from the hand of the Assyrian king. We can read that God saw his tears. God does not only hear our prayers, but He sees the attitude behind.

I will frequently remind you of the fact that praise and worship and praying belong together. You can read Neh.11:17 where Mattaniah was elected the leader of the worship when they prayed. We can see the same to-day. I have several times watched prayer-meetings where two or three different worship-teams have altered in serving God and helping the people to stay focused on the Lord.

I want to introduce Hannah to you. She is the mother of Samuel. She could not conceive a child and she had become bitter. She went to the Temple and prayed and cried in anguish. (1.Sam.1:10) Hannah prayed without using her voice and for some reason Eli, the priest, thought she was drunk. She explained to him that she was not drunk, but had a great sorrow. She had poured out her heart before the Lord. Then Eli answered her: “Go in peace and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him.” Hannah got pregnant and she gave birth to Samuel. She and her husband gave Samuel back to the Lord and he served in the Temple. I recommend you to read the prayer of Hannah in 1.Sam.2 and the conversation between God and Samuel in chapter three. GOD COMMUNICATE WITH CHILDREN AS WELL AS ADULTS.

HEZEKIAH WAS SICK, BUT GOT HEALED. HANNAH’S WOMB WAS CLOSED, BUT SHE PRAYED AND GOT A PROPHETIC WORD THAT LED TO THE BIRTH OF SAMUEL. God is the same yesterday, to-day and for ever. You, who are sick, can be healed and the woman with a closed womb, can become pregnant. Plant a seed of faith in your womb and talk life to it every day. I have seen many miracles in this area and many healings. PRAY AND YOU WILL RECEIVE!

You can go with me to Matt.21:22. Jesus said to His disciples: “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Here He says that faith and praying are closely linked together. Jesus had just cursed a fig tree without any figs and the tree died immediately. Jesus did not pray for a long time, but He COMMANDED the fig tree to die.. When we know the will of God, we can do the same in the name of Jesus and it will happen.

In John 15:7 we read: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” We cannot ask God to kill anybody since that is against His will. WE MUST KNOW THE WORD. Jesus talks a lot about praying in John 14,15,16 and 17. In chapter 16:24 we read: “Ask, and you will receive, that your JOY may be full.” WE BECOME HAPPY WHEN WE RECEIVE ANSWERS.

In chapter 17 Jesus prays to the Father and the prayer is called the prayer of the High Priest. JESUS IS PRAYING FOR US EVEN TO-DAY. I find that very comforting. He prayed and prayes that we should be protected from the evil. He prays that we should be sanctified in the Word and in the Truth. He also prays that we, as believers, should become ONE. A disunited Body is the will of the devil. Jesus also prays that the same love that the Father has for Him, should be in us. WE MUST ALSO PRAY FOR UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST. I recommend Christians to get together in different places for communion and prayers. Only then can revival come.

Do you have a telephone number to God? I can hear that some of think I am joking. No, It is 333, Jeremiah 33:3. There we can read: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” YOU CAN ALWAYS AND IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES CALL UPON THE LORD. He has never closed His office, nor is He too busy with somebody else. When you call upon Him, you are the most important person to Him at that moment. I have to mention that He requires certain things before He can answer us. In Proverbs 15: 8+29 “The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.” I do believe that a non believer can call out to God and that God will answer him if he is sincere. Many can testify about that, people who have been in despair and called on the name of the Lord. God has met them and many got converted and saved through an experience like this. When this is said, I do want to remind you of Jam.5:16: “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” WHEN WE PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS, WE GET THE ATTENTION OF GOD, THE DEVIL GETS AFRAID AND THE ANGELS GET ACTIVE. I really wish we could look into the spirit realm and see what happens when we pray. I do believe we would pray much more then. It says that the prayer of a righteous man avails much. Just imagine what happens when many righteous men and women get together. It could be like an atombomb, blowing up the stronghold of the devil. Will write more about this later. Don’t underestimate the prayer you pray yourself either, LOTS OF POWER.

I recommend you to pray several times during the day. The Muslims pray five times a day. The Bible does not say how many times we should pray, but it does say that we should pray at all times. I do unerstand that we work and have a family life, but even so——-. Read Eph.6:18. It says that we should always pray in the Spirit. We can pray quietly in tongues and always be god-fearing.

ALLOW PRAYING TO BECOME PART OF YOUR DAILY WALK WITH GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
