NOTHING CAN SEPERATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD.

NOTHING CAN SEPERATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD.

The text is taken from Romans 8:35 and the rest of the chapter. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I jumped over some verses describing us as sheep for the slaughter, but He fortunately says that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

When I read this a couple of weeks ago, I got a picture and that showed how God’s love was closer than anything else. We might sometimes feel that fear overwhelms us, but the fear is on a layer outside of His love. If it was on the inside, it would separate us from His love. I really hope that you can visualize this. This goes for all other problems as well, all the problems named in Romans 8. It does not say that they do not exist, but they can’t separate us from His love. Some Christians are so eager in confessing positive that they deny reality. I have met people looking sad and depressed, but when I ask how they are, they say:”It is victory, always victory, hallelujah.” They say this with a big smile and keep the tears back till they come home. We should not share our problems with everybody, but I think we Christians should be much more transparent than we are. If we know that God loves us no matter what, we could be more real.

God’s love is not dependent on circumstances. It is permanent.

When Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden, the devil got dominion over the earth. That’s why we live in a world with so many problems and it seems to get worse instead of better. We Christians belong to another kingdom, the kingdom of God and we want that to penetrate us as well as the world around us more and more. We are the children of God and the Bible is full of promises for His children. God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to save us from perdition. It is our free choice to accept that gift. Jesus sacrificed His own life in order for us to live eternally. Jesus paid the price with His own blood. When we understand that we are sinners and need a Savior, we can receive Jesus and get born again. Jesus moves into our spirit with His spirit then and that part of us becomes perfect. I recommend you to identify more with your spirit than the failures in your soul and body.

I want you to read Matthew 22:34-40. The headline in my Bible is: The two commandments. The first is: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. The next one is: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The fact is that He has loved us first and we can therefore use His love to love Him, ourselves and others. It is nothing egoistic about loving oneself. If we do not love ourselves, we do not fully receive God’s love for us. We can read in psalm 23 that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, but we need to stop long enough to receive it. The Lord is longing to bless us, but we need more revelation about His goodness. Do you receive His love?

If your answer is no, I will ask why you cannott. It might have to do with rejection from your childhood. You might find it difficult to really believe that you are loved unconditionally. You might look more at your failures thinking that you do not deserve to be loved. Right, none of us deserve to be loved, but we receive His love by pure grace. Maybe you have been hurt and you are hiding behind some self-protecting walls. You are afraid of being hurt again. I can assure you, God will never hurt you. People might, but not God. He will continue to love you in spite of your thoughts and emotions, but He gets very sad when you cannot enjoy His unconditional love. Ask the Holy Spirit for help to understand the depths of God’s love. I want to share the second verse of psalm 102 with you. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; Incline Your ear to me; In the day that I call, answer me speedily.” These are His words, but we need to believe in them. I can assure you, God does not lie. You can therefore take His words seriously.

We have to remember that love is not only coming from the outside, but it something we have received on the inside. It is written in Romans 5:5 that the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. If you are born by the Holy Spirit, you have lots of love in your spirit. This love should work upwards towards God, inwards to yourself and outwards towards other people. I mean that we can love the Lord, ourselves and others. Since the love is in us, we can choose to activate it and live in and by it. You must remember that nothing can come between you and the love. I pray that this fact becomes a reality in our lives.

What kind of situation are you in right now? Maybe you have economical worries, healthproblems or you might be in the middle of a divorce. Maybe you lost a loved one recently or you might be very  happy and feel that everything works for you. It does not matter because nothing can separate you from His love. I will repeat this fact till it becomes a reality in your life.

Paul had a prayer in the Ephesians and this prayer is a prayer for you and for me. It is taken from Ephesians 3:17-21.“May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith; that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.” We need spiritual revelation in order to understand how much God loves us. We might start thanking Him for everything He has done for us. It might be more easy then to see His goodness and love then. If we understood more of His love, it would be easier to receive healing then. That is part og His love for us.

Jesus has taken our sins, broken curses, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed. Jesus conquered the devil and gave us authority to use His name.

RECEIVE HIS LOVE AND ALLOW IT TO BE ACTIVE IN YOUR LIFE!
