JESUS REBUKES THE WINDS!

JESUS REBUKES THE WINDS!

I will start with the story that is written in Matthew 8:23-28, Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-26. Jesus was in a boat together with his disciples. He was lying down on a pillow, and He was asleep when a terrible storm came and covered the boat. The disciples thought that they were perishing and they woke Jesus up from His sleep, saying: “Lord, save us, we are perishing.” Jesus answered them by saying: “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea and there was a great calm. The disciples wondered who He was since both the winds and the sea obeyed Him.

The disciples had been wondering how Jesus could be asleep under such circumstances, but Jesus knew His authority. The disciples didn’t understand the authority Jesus had and they hadn’t learned yet to use the same authority as Jesus. When they received Jesus as their Saviour, His spirit moved inside of them. Jesus says in John 17:22 that the same glory as the Father had given Him, dwells in God’s children. In John 17:10 Jesus says: All Mine are yours, and I am glorified in you. When I am driving out evil spirits, I am not doing it in my name or authority. No, I do it in the name of Jesus. He was conquering the devil, and the devil knows that he has to obey the name of Jesus. Read Colossians 2:15.

We must believe in the power of the name of Jesus.

Why do I write about Jesus rebuking the winds right before a new year. I think that we live in a world with a lot of storms both personally, but also in the world. Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea and what happened? Both the sea and the winds got calm. God has created everything and He has therefore given us authority over the elements. Do we believe that?

We read in Matthew 17:20 that we can speak to the mountain if we have faith in God and the mountain will be removed. I do not believe that I can move the biggest mountain of Norway, but I have faith for speaking to problems and the problem will be removed. Once many years ago my youngest daughter had a bone tumour and it looked like a mountain when I saw the x-ray. I talked to the mountain and the tumour disappeared. All honour to God.

What kind of storms do you have when you enter a new year? What kind of problems do you need to talk to?

Jesus has given us authority to speak to the storms and to the mountain.

Maybe you are living with chaos in the family or at your job. God is a God of peace so chaos comes from the enemy, the devil. We read in James 4:7 that we should resist the devil and he will flee from us. We are therefore able to speak to the chaos and command it to bow down before God and His authority. There might be times when we have to do it over a period of time, but we need faith for a result.

Are you worried about your economy? Do you wonder if you have enough money for rent, clothes and food? Matthew 6 says that we shouldn’t worry about tomorrow. There might be times when we have to make different priorities. We can ask God for wisdom. If you have a mountain in front of you saying: Lack of money and resources. You can speak to it and it must disappear.

Are you sick? If you are, you can call on the elder in the church, and he will pray for you and anoint you with oil. (James 5:14), but you can also speak to the sickness and command it to leave referring to Isaiah 53:4+5 and 1.Peter 2:24. We read there that we are healed in the wounds of Jesus. We are supposed to speak in faith and not as a mantra. You and my power cannot heal anybody, but the power of Jesus can.

                                          Jesus lives in you!

If you live in an area of war, you might not have faith to stop the war, but you can speak to the circumstances around yourself and your family. You can use promises like psalm 91 and psalm 23. The Lord is also saying that nothing is impossible for Him, and nothing is impossible for the one who believes.

You know the storms that you are in and the mountains that are in front of you. Many Christians allow the devil to steal both health, money and peace. Some are even allowing the devil to steal their lives.

Maybe your children are not saved. We read in Isaiah 54 that your children should be taught by the Lord. You should therefore command the devil to take his hands off your children. You cannot force your children to become saved. That is a personal decision, but you can fight for them in prayers.

Many people are bound since they sit in a physical prison or bound by fear and worries. Some are bound by generational curses or invisible ties to wrong people. Others are dependent on alcohol, drugs or pornography. The prison might be like a mountain you can speak to. We read in the Bible that Paul and Silas came out of prison after they were singing praise-and worship songs.

I WISH YOU A BLESSED 2026 WHERE YOU CAN PRACTISE YOUR GODGIVEN AUTHORITY AGAINST STORMS AND OTHER DEMONIC ACTIVITIES!
