IS IT ENOUGH WITH ME AND JESUS?

IS IT ENOUGH WITH ME AND JESUS?

I am sure that some of you are wondering why I write this. I will have some thoughts both for and against and I therefore suggest that you read the entire article.

I will start by quoting Romans 10:13. We read there that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Who is the Lord? It is Jesus. We can read in verse nine and ten in the same chapter: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made, unto salvation.” We continue to read that whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame. There is no difference between a Jew and a Greek. Whatever that has to do with our salvation has to do with Jesus and Jesus alone. We can say that Jesus is my Savour. We can also say that He is my elder brother and He is our Bridegroom.

Jesus is saying about Himself that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6) That means that we should walk where He is going and where He has been. We should trust Him and He is Life. We cannot come to the Father except trough Jesus. Many people are believing in a god without having a faith in Jesus Christ. If you are a Christian, Jesus should be the most important person in your life.

Jesus loves us, and we love Him.

Jesus is more than enough for my salvation, and He opens a way for me to come to heaven, but here on earth we need each other. I have many times been in situations where I couldn’t manage on my own. I am so thankful for the help from my Christian friends, both practically, emotionally and spiritually.

We read in Colossians 1:18 that Christ is the head of the Body, He is the head of the Church. John 15 writes that we are like branches on a tree. The branches cannot bear fruits if they aren’t in Christ. In 1. Corinthians 12 we read that the body has many parts, but all parts belong together. The invisible parts are often                                 the most important.

As Christians we have the same Daddy. It doesn’t matte how we look. I have sisters and brothers all over the entire world. I have been travelling to many countries and churches where the people look different, they speak another language and they even act a little different, but we have the same Father and the same Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:33) Jesus says in Mark 3:33 that the person doing the will of the Father is His mother, sister and brother. The headline over this Scripture is: The true family of Jesus. When Jesus talks about us as His family or branches on a tree, it is obvious that He doesn’t want us to live alone nor does He want us to isolate us from the rest of our family. When I attended a Bible-school, the principal spoke against those who isolated themselves from the rest of the students. We are supposed to be together, and you must not think that you are more holy if you sit in a corner by yourself with the Bible. We are all parts of the Body of Christ. We have different gifts and different jobs to do, but we belong to the Body. If I lose a finger or a toe or even a bigger part on the body, it has an effect on the whole body. Some people envy someone or they might even try to be another person. Your own place might become empty then and there will be an unbalance in the body.

When we read about the first Christians, we read that they gathered in homes every day. They didn’t always gather in the same home. But they got together. They ate together and shared communion together. We also read that those who had more than enough shared with the others. We read in 1. Corinthians 12:25 that all the members should have the same care for one another, and in the next verse we read that if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. In Scandinavia we live with focus on the individual. The result might be a lot of lonely people. They miss contact with others. They miss doing something with mothers and they might miss having visitors. Many old people miss a hand to hold and many younger people might miss physical contact and even sex. Many are saying to me that they know that they have Jesus, but I cannot feel Him physically they say. Do you remember that Jesus allowed a woman to anoint Him with oil and He Himself washed the feet of His disciples. We even read in the Bible that they greeted each other with holy kiss. (Romans 16:16) Kissing is a normal way of greeting each other in some countries. I believe that God has created us to touch each other, but the devil has made so much of touch to become sexual, and people have gotten afraid of normal, loving touch.

We live in a world with a lot of evil. Ephesians 6 says that our fight is not against flesh and blood. That means that we should not fight against people, but against demonic powers. James 4:7 says that we should resist the devil and he will flee from us. Many think that it is difficult to resist the devil alone. One takes thousand, but two take ten thousand. I believe that we need each other to stand together against the evil today. That is one of many reasons why many prayer-events are arranged in Sweden today. Churches are getting together to pray.

JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR YOUR SALVATION, BUT WE NEED EACH OTHER HERE ON EARTH!
