Introduction for Spirit, Soul and Body

January 18th

INTRODUCTION:

God has asked me to share with you my knowledge about spirit, soul and body. When you look at different translations of the Bible, there is a certain confusion between soul and spirit. This also exists in many of the songs we sing. People lack knowledge and in Hosea 4:6 it says that “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” God does not want us to be destroyed.

I am building my teaching on the Word of God, revelations, books that I have read and teaching by other Bible-teachers and preachers.

None of us knows the whole truth, but we see in part according to 1.Cor.13. We are all giving our part to complete a great puzzle.

The Bible says that we should share what we have seen and heard, and that’s what I will do.

When I refer to Bible-verses, I will only mention what is necessary for this teaching. I expect you to look them up.

THE TRINITY.

God is THREE and still ONE.

God is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. God created everything that grows on the earth. He created all animals and insects, all that has life, in the water and in the air.

In Genesis 1:27+28 it is written that God created man in His own image. He made them fruitful and gave them dominion over every living thing on Earth. I will not write about the misuse of that dominion.

God is also our Heavenly Father (Matt.5:45) In Rom.8:15 we read that we have not received the spirit of bondage, but the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out: “Abba, Father.”

Jesus tells his disciples not to worry since our father knows all our need and He will make us satisfied. (Luk.12:22-34).

We can add another o to God and say that God is only Good.

JESUS

He is the second person in the Trinity. In John 1:1+2 we read that He was the Word, and the Word was God. When Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, God cried out:” This is my Son in Whom I am well pleased.”(Matt.3:17)

Jesus is the Savior of the World. This is mentioned many places in the Bible. John 4:42 is one of the places.

I want to quote the “Little Bible” “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16)

Jesus came as a human being to identify with us. He is called our brother and friend. (John 15:14)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

In Isaiah 11:2 the prophet refers to Jesus refers to Jesus when he says:” The Spirit of the Lord is upon Him.”

Another prophet, Zechariah, says in his book, chapter 4, verse 6 that:” Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

Jesus says to his disciples that it is better that He leaves the Earth and goes to His Father in Heaven so that the Helper, the Holy Spirit, can come and convict the world of sin and righteousness and of judgment.(John 16:7)

Acts 2 describes how the Holy Spirit came to the 120, waiting in prayer in the upper room. The fourth verse says:” And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

In Genesis 1:27 it says that God created man in His image. Somehow we must look like God. He is a triune God and we also consist of three parts. Paul prays that their spirit, soul and body should be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. !.(Tess.5:25.)

I usually describe this by drawing three circles. The one in the center is the spirit, the other one is the soul and the third one is the body.

On the 28th of January you can read about the spirit.

Till then;

MAY GOD GUIDE YOU AND PROTECT YOU.
