EASTER MORNING QUENCHES THE GRIEF

EASTER MORNING QUENCHES THE GRIEF.

Part1

This is the beginning of an Easter psalm in Norway. It continues to say that Easter morning quenches the grief for eternity. Easter morning has given us light and life, light and life in the early morning. The Rescuer is risen, is risen in the morning. Hell is crying, but heaven rejoices. Heaven rejoices with a new worship-song. The Rescuer is risen, is risen in the morning. It is not so easy to translate a song, but this is the content of the two first verses. There are many more.

Jesus had prophesied about His resurrection, but nobody understood what He meant. I do not think that we fully understand what happened in the spirit-world when Jesus was tortured to death and when He won over death and rose the third day. We read in Isaiah 53:4+5: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted, But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The tis quite amazing to think that this was written about Jesus hundreds of years before it actually happened. God had already then a plan for saving His children, a plan for humanity.

I want to share to verses from Colossians 2, verses 14 and 15: Jesus has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers. He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” If Jesus hadn´t won a victory over the devil and his helpers, I wouldn´t have had courage to drive out demons of people. I am not driving them out in my name, but in the name of Jesus who already has won a victory over them. They must obey Him and I must have faith in His victory.

Some people identify themselves as sinners, but I want to identify myself with my new righteous nature given to me by God. If we want to hide our sins, I can understand that we identify with the sins, but 1. John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Jesus has made it possible for us to get dressed in white wedding gowns. We are washed in His blood. The enemy cannot penetrate the blood. I am very conscious of covering myself with the blood of Jesus.

Every day during Easter week has a meaning. We might start with Palm Sunday. Jesus came a few days before Easter to Bethany. Jesus had just risen Lazarus from the grave in Bethany. A party was made for Jesus there and many participated in the party. The day after the party, the crowd got to hear that Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem. The crowd took branches from the Palm-trees and went out to meet Him. Jesus sat on a donkey and the people were shouting: “ Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest! They honoured Him and especially for the miracle of Lazarus.

When I read about the different happenings during Easter, I cannot always see that the dates and times are correct. I have learned that the years and the months might even be wrong.

The high priests and the Scribes tried to find a way to get rid of Jesus. Satan entered the apostle Judah then and he got to be the one to betray Jesus.

Jesus got His disciples to prepare the Passover meal for them. The chosen lamb should be slaughtered. When everything was ready and they sat together around the table, Jesus said that He had been longing to share this meal with them and that this meal would be the last one before His suffering. He founded that evening what was later called communion. Jesus took bread, blessed it, and gave it to His disciples and said: “Take eat, this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: “Drink from it all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Another place we read that He said: “Do this in remembrance of Me” The apostle Paul writes in 1. Corinthians 11:25 that Jesus said that we proclaim His death till He comes back.

The next happening is taken from the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus got a terrible fear that night and He was sweating drops of blood. Jesus knew what was coming, but the disciples didn´t manage to keep awake, and Jesus was fighting alone.

The apostle Judah came next morning together with the high priests and the elders of the people. Judah kissed Jesus to show them who Jesus was. Jesus was taken prisoner. He was mocked and beaten by the guards. He was questioned by the Counsil. He was taken back and forth between The High priests, Pilate and Herod and they were ready to release Him. The tradition was that one prisoner should go free before the feast and the crowd cried out the name of Barabbas. He was guilty of murder and he was a rebellion. Pilate couldn`t resist the pressure from the people and he allowed Jesus to be crucified. There were two more criminals to be crucified as well. We are therefore seeing three crosses.

I will continue the story to the Day of Resurrection.

BLESSED EASTER!
