DO WE FOLLOW THE WORD OF GOD? Part 1.

DO WE FOLLOW THE WORD OF GOD?

Part 1

I will write about something that might not be so easy to swallow, but it is very useful for our daily life. I started to read a book about divine healing and the author pointed at many reasons for our sicknesses. We might not think about some of these reasons or maybe we do not want to think about these reasons as a base for our sickness. We human beings would like to blame other people or the devil for our problems, but maybe you and I haven’t followed the recipe. If you are baking a cake without following the recipe, what kind of result do you get? It will not be a success if you skip an ingredient or add one that is not the right one. This goes for all kinds of baking and cooking. Why should it be different in the kingdom of God?

Jesus said to the Jews who believed in Him in John 8:31: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Do you want to know the truth? In Hosea 4:6 we read that Gods’ people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. I do not want anybody to get destroyed and I want to share knowledge that are built on the Word of God. That is one of several reasons for writing two books. I want to give people knowledge to help them.

We read in psalm 119:105 that the word is a lamp for my feet and a light to my path. The author continues to write that he wants to keep God’s righteous judgments or laws as it is written another place. Do you want that? I believe that many of us want to do that, but our sinful nature and the devil might make it difficult for us to do so. Many in the society are saying that we should follow our inner voice. Others are saying that we are free to do what is right for us. They are not asking if that is true or edifying. We are having huge debates about abortion and about marriages between the same sex or changing your sex according to your own desires. What does the Bible say? We read in Genesis 1:27 that God created man in His own image and He created them male and female. Some people blame God for creating them to be homosexuals. The Bible says that He created them to be man and female. God blessed the marriage between Eve and Adam. I am not against homosexuals, but God has created a man to be man and a woman to be woman. Many things have become perverted these days. The world wants us to edify emotions. They might even ask small children in Sweden if they feel like a girl or a boy and if they don’t, they can change sex. A lot of the debate around homosexuality is also circling around emotions. In Sweden and certain other countries, you might get in prison if you publicly read the last part of Romans 1. I am sure that certain Christians have treated homosexuals wrongly, but the Word of God is eternal.

If we go to the Ten Commandments, we read that we should not have any other gods. In certain countries they are making pictures and things that they worship, but I usually say that whatever that is more important than God, is an idol. I therefore believe that all of us have some idols. It might be television, the mobile, the job, food, the car, family and friends, games, money and power. Yes, it could be anything. It could even be your ministry. One can become so involved in activities that one forgets the employer. We sometimes do things that God has not ordered.

We should not have any idols.

I have contact with many anxious people and some of them suffer with panic-attacks. Some people cannot sleep at night because of worries and fear. This is very unpleasant for the people suffering from it and it isn’t according to the Word of God. I would be the last person condemning anybody for being afraid, but the fact is that The Word of God repeats time and time again that we should not worry. Matthew 6:25 says that we shouldn’t worry about tomorrow. The Word says: Rely on God. We are not obedient when we do not trust God and I have confessed that as sinful many times. God has created heaven and earth, people and everything else on earth. I seriously do not know anybody I should trust more than Him. Why do we so often think that we have to fix everything ourselves? There are certain things we have to do ourselves, but The Holy Spirit is called The Helper, and we can always get help from Him.

In the Ten Commandments we read that we should not covet what belongs to our neighbour. I hear quite often that people wonder why the neighbour has success when they themselves are having difficulties with economy and health. We will most of the time lack answers for those questions, but my question is: Do we rejoice in their success? We read in Galatians 5:26 that we should not be conceited, nor should we become envious. I have been persecuted by envious people. Envy might lead to witchcraft and other evil deeds.

Do you like to listen to gossip about other people? The Bible mentions gossip under the deeds of the flesh. We can read about that in 2. Corinthians 12 and 1.Timothy 5. Gossip is often based on lies, but even truthful gossip might be malicious. If you are supposed to share some information about a person to another, be sure that the purpose is to pray or another loving reason. You would otherwise be disobedient to The Word of God.

IF YOU FOLLOW THE RECEPIE IN THE WORD OF GOD, YOU WILL BE BLESSED!
