BUILD A SOLID FOUNDATION.

 

I do not know if you have seen those many programs about building on television or the many storms, earthquakes and many other catastrophes in nature? In poor countries where they do not have enough money to build a solid and safe foundation, the catastrophes are worst. Lots of houses are falling down and people are buried underneath the ruins. I know of a Christian organization that specialized in building a solid foundation in case of a catastrophe in nature.

I believe that everything that is new and that hasn’t been formed before, need a solid foundation. That goes for buildings, people, churches, families and new firms. Yes. It goes for everything new. A lack of a solid foundation can cause accidents and the reason why projects will not succeed. It could also be one of many reasons why people have problems later in life.

I will write about causes for forming a solid foundation and what will be the reasons for having cracks in the foundation.

A family and your relatives might be the first stones in your foundation. In Exodus 20 we read that the blessings can last in 1000 generations while curses might last in 3-4. I have quite a few missionaries in my family and that brings blessings, but we also have some sicknesses and some sins that bring curses in the family. We can brake the curses of our forefathers according to 1. Peter 1:18. Some families have many with an alcoholic sickness while other have a poverty curse. I have broken a curse of poverty over me and my children. In Ukraine I meet many families with a lot of alcoholism. That can create both poverty and a lot of insecurity and strife. I meet quite a few families with autism and others have cancer. All kinds of physical and psychological sicknesses might run in families, but do not forget your authority.

What happens in the womb of the mother during the nine months of pregnancy might either build on the foundation or make cracks in the foundation. If the mother suffers from anxiety, the child might be influenced by that. Fear creates fear. What the mother eats and drinks are influencing the development of the child. A drug-addicted mother might give birth to a drug-addicted baby. Constant stress is not good for the child and if we experience accidents or war, it might influence the child in a negative way. I myself am born during the last war and my mother experienced an explosion when she was 5 months pregnant with me. She got a wall over her back, but I was protected. I have asked God to heal me from this.

I have many times written about the importance of words. You create what you say. I think that the mother should say to the child that she loves him or her every day. She could sing songs of peace, joy and love to the child and the father could put his hand on her stomach and bless the child. This child will not become a rejected child. If the parents disagree and discuss all the time or misuse alcohol or drugs the child will be affected by that even if it is in the womb of the mother.

Today it is normal that both mother and father are present during birth. For most people it is a day of joy and happiness when the baby comes and the pain is over. The baby is put on the stomach or the chest of the mother right away. If she has had a Caesarean, the baby will be put on the chest of the father to get contact with the skin. The baby will sleep, get fed and change diapers in the very beginning. It will also receive lots of love and cuddling. That is very important in building a sound foundation. I have prayed for adopted children from other countries, and they have not received so much love and cuddling. When I talk to people with cracks in their foundation, God will often lead me to Isaiah 54:11-16. God says that He will lay our foundation with sapphires and our pinnacles of rubies, our gates of crystal and our walls of precious stones.

                  God can give you today what you didn’t get as a child.

I will use the last part of the writing to explain the foundation of the church and a congregation.  I refer to Matthew 16:18+19. Jesus had a conversation with Peter and Jesus said that He would build the church on the rock and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Jesus continues to say that He would give him the keys to heaven and whatever he bound on earth would be bound in heaven, and whatever he loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. I will also refer to Ephesians 2:20+21. It says there that the church and we should be built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. Jesus Christ should be the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. I have been in a church that wasn’t built on the foundation of apostles and prophets. It was built on evangelists. I do believe that they wanted the Word of God to be important, but they lacked structure. They want it to become big before the foundation was made. When the storms came, it wasn’t strong enough to stand. That is a tragedy because it had elements that God could use. Today they are a small group.

We as humans start with a small cell and develop step by step. Each step is important. I believe that every new beginning should begin with a solid foundation and every stone is important.
