Speak to the mountain!

1st of September

I am coming from a very mountainous country. I love mountains and I think they are very beautiful. I have also had the possibility to see fantastic mountains in other parts of the world. I have indeed no desire to get rid of them. I am thanking God who has given us all the beauty of nature, including the mountains. I really do not think that God has meant that we should speak to the natural mountains. I feel that they represent something big and majestic. Some of them are so big that it is almost impossible to see what exist behind them. I have walked in the mountains and when one is getting close to a peak, one might see another peak and another peak before one reaches the real goal.

I will start by using Mark 11:20-24. Jesus talks to His disciples and He says: “Have faith in God!” He continues to say: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Jesus had just cursed a fig tree since it did not bear any fruits. The disciples were really surprised when they saw that the tree actually died. Jesus often taught by using pictures and I believe that the mountains symbolize something that is very difficult. It might be small or big hindrances, but we are not in God’s perfect will for our life.

There are many mountains in the world to-day and there are quite a few who are climbing mountains and it can be quite dangerous. Some people risk their own lives and some do die. It takes a lot of time and energy to climb up and down mountains. One must be well trained and well prepared. Many people, believers as well as non-believers are using their entire life to climb up and down all the different mountains that are rising in their life. Jesus is pointing to a much easier and better way: Speak to them! Can you imagine a mountain in front of you and you are saying: “Be removed and cast into the sea!” and it rises, falls into the sea, the water is thrown high up and you look for the mountain, and it is gone. This is impossible if you do not understand the authority that you have gotten in the name of Jesus. It is in the name above all other names that we can do this.

We can read a similar thing in Matt.17:20. Jesus says that we do not need more faith than a mustard seed. He says that we can move mountains by using our faith and nothing will be impossible. A mustard seed is very, very small. I meet many people who are wondering why God doesn’t do this and stop that, but God has asked us to do it.

We pray: “Our Father” and in that prayer we say: “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” Do you know how it is in heaven? I have recently read books by people who have been there. God wants His children to get a picture of what is waiting for them when they come home to their real Father and what is waiting for those who have turned their back to Him. That is so awful that it is beyond our imagination, but it is first and foremost the heaven I want to talk about now. Is there any sickness there? No. Do we meet any demons? No. Will we find hunger and poverty? No. Will we be in war or will anybody be tortured? No. Is God just? Yes. Is there any unemployment? No. Here both children and adults are harassed, but not in heaven. I could make a long list of all the evil here on earth, but I only want to show you that none of these things exist in heaven. God is Lord in heaven, the devil here on earth and we Christians are supposed to bring heaven down to earth.

Many Christians are bored and do not know how to use their time. As Christians we do not need to be idle. When we look around, we see a lot of darkness and we could always be busy praying. Heaven hasn’t really invaded the earth yet.

I believe that we should start with the mountains rising up in our own lives before we start with all the others. One should think that it is easy to see a mountain, but it isn’t always so. Some think that God has placed a lot of hindrances in our way in order to teach us something.

We really need to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in an intimate way in order to know what is rising up against the knowledge of God and what is a result of persecution. The more we are together with the pure and real, the easier it is to reveal the false.

You can go with me to 2.Cor.10:4+5. We read: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” It says again that we should pull down every high thing and every thought that is against the knowledge of God. We really need to know what Jesus has said in order to go against the opposite of the Word of God.

I believe that there are a lot of mountains in our lives. I will mention a few such as thought-patterns, sin, temptations, sickness, false accusations and inward and outward resistance. It might be problems created by myself or others or both. Divorce can be such a thing. Mountains can also rise from the society around. Some mountains cover a whole nation such as poverty and wars.

We human beings really want others to solve the problems for us. We also want to blame others for our problems. I do not say that it could not be so, but you and I are responsible for what we do with our problems. The devil might show us the problems by using a magnifying glass. The mountains seem to be so big then that we cannot do anything about them. I do not believe that any mountain is too big, but I do not believe that I should take all the mountains in the entire world. I must take those in my life, my family and those closest to me. When a mountain covers a big area, I think that the Christians should get together to pray and talk to the mountain. I have heard strong prayer-worries say that they spend a lot of time with the Lord before they speak to the mountain. We must never forget that it is in His power we do it.

A mountain is not moved by our power.

When they explode a mountain, they use dynamite. We also need to use dynamite. Jesus Himself used the Word and He said: It is written!” The Word is dynamite. The name of Jesus and His blood is also dynamites. If you live in conscious sin or refuse to forgive, I cannot guarantee you that the mountain will be removed. We need to speak without doubting and with boldness and sin blocks that.

You might wonder how you should start. Start with a small mountain. When you feel the first signs of a cold, tell the cold to leave you. Divine health belongs to the children of God. Say: “By His stripes I am healed, so cold disappear and do not return.” You might have to repeat this and do not give up before it is gone. We have to be more stubborn than the devil. Before I gave up more easily since I didn’t know my rights as a child of God. You can continue to talk to the unemployment, difficulties in marriage etc.

We have a saying that goes like this: “We do not see the forest for all the trees,” but we  might as well say: “We do not see God’s solutions for all the mountains.”

Do not sit and wait for God to take the initiative to do something about your problem. Jesus has already taken your sin, sickness, pain and our punishment in order for us to have peace and He has given us His name and His authority.

JESUS HAS OVERCOME EVIL AND WE CAN DO THE SAME IN HIS NAME!
