Part 12 of Spirit, Soul and Body.

PROTECTION

The devil can live with his demons either in your soul or in your body, but he can also attack us from the outside.

The Blood of Jesus:

I have several times mentioned the blood of Jesus since there is a very strong protection in that blood. I will give you a couple of illustrations of the blood. I asked God to make the blood real to me and He did. (Ask, and it shall be given.) He said that I could compare the blood of Jesus with an incubator. The child is inside the incubator and can see everything, but the incubator is so tight that no bacteria can enter. We can also see the devil through the Blood, but none of his things should reach us. Another time when I was in Singapore, I went to night-safari. I stood face to face with a tiger looking him straight in the eyes. It was a plexy-glass between us. God said that we can be that close to the devil, but he can not touch us because of the blood of Jesus. TREMENDOUS!

The armor:

I want you to look up Eph.6:10-20. We are recommended to put on the whole armor of God. I recommend you to do this every morning. We do this so that we can stand against the wiles of the devil and win the battle. By doing this you become aware of all the things that protect you and you can start a day of victory.

We start with the head. That covers the brain and the mind. You cover the head with the helmet of Salvation. I put the helmet on people suffering with confusion, lack of concentration or other mind-sets from the devil. You have everything in the Salvation. Go back to Is.53:4+5.

On the Cross, Jesus cried out: “It is finished!”

Then we move down to our breast and put on the breastplate of righteousness. With this we cover our heart and breast. We must know that Jesus is our righteousness. There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. We are in Christ. We must be conscious of the fact that we have a part of us which is faultless and worthy of Heaven. Thank Jesus for paying the price for you.

We are supposed to take the shield of Faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

We read in Heb.11:6 that it is impossible to please God without faith. Read the whole chapter. It is about faith and all the faith-heroes in the Bible. Faith is a gift that all of us Christians have. Faith will not increase by praying for you, but by hearing, hearing the word of God.(Rom.10:17) If you are going to protect yourself from the devil, you must believe that the Blood and the armor are working for you.

We must take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. I have mentioned that this is also a weapon that Jesus used. If we are full of the Word, we are strong when the devil attacks us. What do we do when we get sick? Do we read and proclaim the words of healing or do we say that this is exactly what I was afraid would happen? I have heard people who have been in prison for the sake of their faith, say: “I could’nt have managed without the Word of God within me.”

We should stand firm with the belt of Truth around our waist. Jesus says in John 14:6 that He is the Truth, the Way and the Life. We can protect ourselves with Jesus around our waist. Besides, He is the real life.

We must speak the truth. I have met many Christians who easily lie and because of that they are opening up for the devil. I have been in countries where lying is part of the culture. Even the Christians in those countries can come under it. I talk about lying and the importance of speaking the truth and often reveal lies in those countries. Jesus says to those Jews who believed Him: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”(John 8:31+32) All lies are binding you. If you lie, you put yourself in prison. Truth will always create freedom. The Word of God is the truth. Speak according to the Word.

When we dress ourselves, we put on shoes. That is also part of the armor. We should be prepared to go with the gospel of peace. In those days they had special sandals with rivets under. The devil should be under our shoes and those rivets could hurt him.

We should always be willing to tell about Jesus to others and we should always be prepared.

Paul asks the Ephesians in verse 19 to pray for him so that he may be given utterance and may open the mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.

I have now described the six parts of the armor: The helmet of Salvation, the breastplate of Righteousness, the shield of Faith, the sword of the Spirit, the belt of Truth and the shoes that are prepared to bring the gospel.

I asked the Lord some years ago why my back was so unprotected. He answered: “My love is covering you from the top to your bottom.”

Prayer:

In Eph.6:18 we read that we should be praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.

Smith Wigglesworth, a man of great faith, was once asked how long he prayed at a time. He answered: “Five minutes.” The answer was shocking since signs and wonders were part of his ministry. Then Wigglesworth continued to say that only five minutes passed between his prayers. That is the secret. We should always have a natural contact with God. No matter what we do or where we are, the “Helper” is there for us.

I have earlier mentioned praise and worship as a weapon against the devil. It is also used as a protection. When we praise the Lord, we keep the devil away.

In Christ:

In order to protect yourself and fight against the devil, you need to know who you are in Christ. We can keep to the letter to the Ephesians. I will refer to the beginning of the letter.

God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. He has chosen us before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. In Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of our sins.

In Christ we have obtained an inheritance. Everything that belongs to Him, belong to us. In Him we were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. In verse 19 we read that we should understand what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

When we keep ourselves in Christ, we have everything. We will not lack anything for our daily life and we will have everything we need in the battle against the devil.

LET US STAY IN CHRIST AND LIVE IN THE SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
