MEDITATE ON THE WORD OF GOD AND THEN YOU WILL DO WHAT THE WORD IS SAYING.

MEDITATE ON THE WORD OF GOD AND THEN YOU WILL DO WHAT THE WORD IS SAYING.

I recently heard some teaching by Curry Blake and I was inspired and felt that I had to repent in some areas. I want to take you with me in the process. Whatever we have received, we should share with others. I really have to say that I never have wanted to teach anything that is not based on the Word of God, but it hasn’t always been so active in my daily life as it should. I have just been attacked by some illnesses and I should have used the Word much more in the healing process. I have taught my children since a young age that they should consider the Word just as important as normal food and that should be eaten often. We should also have a variety of food. The devil doesn’t want us to live in the Word and even I might be tempted to do other things than reading the Bible. I do not mean that we should read the Bible all day long, but psalm 1 says that we should meditate on it day and night. It also says that we should delight in it. That is the opposite of doing it because we have to. If we feel forced to do it, we might not do it out of a free will. If we are under condenation, we might not desire to read the Word. It is also important that we understand the importance of it. I recommend you to read psalm 19 and 119. I will recite some verses and underline some of their points. Psalm 19:7-10 is saying: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever, the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold, sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”  The Word of God is perfect and it strengthens our soul. My soul needs to be strengthens often. Maybe you feel helpless, full of fear of maybe you lack strength. When we fear, we can find 365 places in the Bible saying: “Do not fear.”  We can just go to psalm 23 and the fourth verse. It says that we do not have to fear any evil since the Lord is with us and His rod and staff comfort us. Psalm 91 is very much for the time today. So much is happening around us and it is easy to feel fearful, but it says that He will deliver us from the snare of the fowler and from perilous pestilence. He will cover us with His feathers. We might watch all the bad things happening, but it shall not come near us. Angels are sent out to protect us

We must believe in what we are reading.

Hebrew 11:4 is saying that without faith, we cannot please God. I myself have gotten great faith in psalm 91 and have seen His protection during dangerous situations. There are times when I hear about things that I cannot explain and I also know that some people are called to become martyrs. They will get a martyr’s reward. There are certain things in my life that would not have happened if I had lived more actively in the Word. Hebrew 4:12 is saying that the Word is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. We must not treat the Bible as something dead. It is alive. We need to pray for revelations of the Word in order for the Word to do what it is supposed to do. Hosea 4:6 says that we are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The Bible is not talking about knowledge of history or mathematic, but knowledge of the Word of God. We are not reading the Bible in order to boast about our knowledge, but it is the base for our living. The Word is not a mere head-knowledge. Psalm 1 says that we should delight in the Word. That means that we should long for it. Religion has almost strangled the Word and one has come into bondage.

Pray for a spiritual thirst and hunger for the Word.

I have for years been praying for an organization distributing Bibles and Christian literature in many countries around the world. People living in countries where it is difficult to get a Bible, will often become desperate. They have really understood the importance of it. They do not say: “Oh, do I really have to read the Bible again?” The Word becomes the most precious thing for them. The devil knows the importance of the Word and he tries to stop people from getting a Bible and where there is an easy access to the Bible, he tries to hinder people from reading. He knows the Bible, but he uses it wrongly. The devil was using the Word when he tempted Jesus in the desert. Jesus didn’t agree with the devil, but He answered and said: “It is written.” I know people who have stopped reading the Bible since the devil had used it against them. He has misinterpreted the Word and created fear and condemnation. Think of all the delusions that exist because of the devil’s interpretations. Always ask the Holy Spirit to be with you when you read in order to get the right revelations from the right source.

Back to psalm 119. It starts by saying that those who walk in the law of the Lord will be blessed. It continues to say that we would not be ashamed if we look into all of His commandments. One word is not enough. We need a variety of food and we need to read things in a context.

Young people might be more tempted than ever, but verse nine says that a young person can live a clean life by keeping to His Words. Verse 16 says that we should not forget His Word. Mark 4 is describing what might happen to the Word. We might allow worries and persecution to choke the Word, but “These are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the Word, accept it, and bear fruit; some thirtyfold, some sixty and some a hundred.” I know myself how easy it is to forget God’s promises during difficult circumstances, but that’s when we need it more than ever. Verse 18 in psalm 119 asks God to open our eyes so that we may see all the wondrous things from His law. We do not read the Bible as a novel, but we meditate on it. Verse 25-32 describes depression, lies and sorrow, but the writer of the psalm knows that only the Word can really help us. Do we know it? Verse 50 says that the Word has given life. I will recite verse 47-48: “And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love. My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statues.” Verse 105 says that the Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. That means that if we are in darkness, the Word will shine if we use it. The light is always stronger than the dark. I will close this psalm by reciting verse 160:”The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” The Word of God is eternal. We can read in Matthew 24:35: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Whatever God has said, will be an eternal truth. Men might have made mistakes when they have translated the Bible, but one will know the original meaning when one reads the original text. I continue to point at Bible verses talking about the Word. We can go to the sixth chapter of the gospel of John. At the end it says that it is the Spirit who gives life and Jesus said that the words that He spoke to His disciples were spirit and life. When Jesus asked His disciples if they would leave Him, Simon Peter answered: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

Some Christians say that they love Jesus, but do they love the Word? We read in John 14:23-24:”If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”

HAVE YOUR DELIGHT IN THE WORD!
