Expect a harvest!

1st of June

We are enjoying the summer right now and I am not asking you to wait for the fall with its chill. No, I ask you to expect a harvest, a harvest that is the result of what you have sown. We can read in Gal.6.7-10: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Many people sow everywhere without thinking where they sow, when they sow and what they sow. They do not have a specific purpose and goal in life. I have said earlier that the words of God are like seeds. The words coming from our mouth are also like seeds. We should be much more conscious of our words. Our deeds are also like seeds. We reap what we say and what we do. We are sometimes forgetting our seeds and we do not give them water. Other times we allow the devil to steal the seeds. When I prayed about this theme, I got a picture of a very big bag with lots of small bags inside. Each one of them consisted of different kinds of seed. I could read: comfort, encouragement, exhortation and on others I read bitterness, resentment and revenge. The last ones could come from the person’s emotional wounds. I also “saw” bags full of good deeds. I could read: practical help, intercession, laying on hands, driving out demons and many more. I also “saw” bags full of testimonies, the personal ones were most appreciated. I also “saw” some bags that looked very nice on the outside, but the content was far away good. It was like nice chocolate on the outside, but the nuts inside were very hard and one could hardly eat them. “I don’t understand what you mean now,” you say. Jesus also used pictures when He talked to His disciples and I will come back to this point.

First of all I want you to be very careful with you seeds. You must be very conscious and know where to sow, when to sow and how to sow. The Bible encourages us to sow in good soil, but we do not always know what is good and bad. We might give to churches, projects and people and later we find out that the money have been misused. Have we sinned then? If we have given out of a pure heart and with the right motives, I think God will reward our heart and not the result. He sees to the heart. If we know that the people are not honest and pure and we continue to sow there, God will not bless us. We might have wrong ties to these people and we sow because we fear men more than God. The harvest will not be a blessing.

Many people hesitate to sow because they lack the right knowledge of God. We should give Him the first fruit of the harvest or the tenth of our income. It should be given where we receive the spiritual food. Let us read Malachi 3:10 “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house and try M now in this; says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. ” We will always receive more than we plant if we sow into the Kingdom of God. God is not stingy. I was told by a nice brother that I should expect a harvest. I have noticed your sowing he said, but you act like you do not expect a harvest. That is not biblical he said.

You will reap the same fruit you sow. If you sow seeds from an apple, you will reap apple-trees. If you plant strawberries, you will reap strawberries. If I sow into the economy of the church, I will reap blessings on my own economy. I was without a permanent income for some years and I traveled around for God. I didn’t ask anybody for money, but I always had enough.

My oldest daughter gave her room to a prophetess while she was sleeping on the floor in another room. The prophetess said that my daughter always would have a room wherever she would travel as a reward. She has also been baby-sitting a lot without asking for any payment. I am sure that she will have baby-sitters the day she needs it herself. What we have sown, we will reap. You, yourself can stop the reward by speaking in a negative way. It is very stupid to say: “I do not believe that God will ever bless me.”

What did I mean when I mentioned the hard nuts with the nice and soft chocolate? The interpretation that I got was that this could be the people that looked very kind and nice on the outside. They might even give you some favor or some presents, but their motives were wrong. They might expect much more back or they were nice in order to use you in some way or the other. Religious people will often have the right facade, but their hearts are wrong. God judges the heart, not the facade. These people lack a pure love for Jesus and other people.

I recently listened to a preacher who said that we did not need so many points to describe mature Christians. Two were enough. The words were: to give and to forgive. We can give of our money, our time and of ourselves. You might have been together with people who do not share anything. They might be quiet and they might seemingly be very humble. I find them very proud unless they have a fear they need deliverance from. There are times when we should listen to another person, but then we give them our entire attention. Each person is special and each and everyone of us needs to share our speciality. God would have made us all alike if we should not give of ourselves.

We can sow in the Spirit or in the flesh. We can also sow the seed of the devil. We Christians have a new-born spirit, but we do not always live by our spirit. We might have a wrong need for attention and thereby show others contempt by our words and deeds. We might have personal wounds and “they” talk. Our tongue has the power of life and death and we must be careful. We are warned against bitterness. We are told to forgive. The revenge belongs to the Lord and we do not need to defend ourselves. We are supposed to love and to bless. If we act in a wrong spirit, we will reap a negative result. Sometimes we wonder why things happen to us, but we forget what we have sown. The devil loves to destroy relationships. We are supposed to build them.

I say that we reap what we have sown, but do not use this against people who are in difficulties. If you meet a person who has lung cancer so pray for him even if he or she has been smoking. God is a God of grace. The tree was bad, but God can destroy the tree if we ask for forgiveness. Some problems come as an attack from the devil and we must be careful to judge others and say: “You reap what you sow.”

Every farmer expects a result from their sowing. The same is true in the kingdom of God. It can take some time depending on the different circumstances for growth. We need His grace when we are waiting, especially when it is cold and we see nothing.

We read in John 4:35 “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

LET US BE WORKERS FOR THE HARVEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
